The Iowa State Athletics Department released a statement on Thursday, October 6, regarding head Women's Basketball Coach Bill Fennelly's recent diagnosis with cancer on his vocal chords.

Thankfully, Coach Fennelly has his twitter account to fall back on, despite not being able to talk for the next few months. As one of the more prolific tweeters from Iowa State, and perhaps all of the NCAA, we're glad he still has an outlet in which to profess his love for Iowa State, basketball, the Saint Louis Cardinals, and Diet Mountain Dew. 

In fact, he posted this nugget of wisdom last night after learning about his diagnosis:

We understand, coach. We're a sucker for Coach Fred Hoiberg's dreamy eyes, too.
