New Rivalry
Now that Nebraska and Missouri are both gone, who will Iowa State look to for rivalry?
I know there is a rivalry with Kansas State already (Farmageddon since 1917?) but everyone needs more than just one rivalry.
TTU?
Start fresh with WVU?
Look to a yet to be invited program? If so, who should be invited into the Big 12/Big 14 that would be a good rival for Iowa State?

WVU WVU WVU!
Since we’re the closest school to them. And we can just have a flaming couch inside a flaming dumpster as a trophy.
USC knockoff uniforms, none of the results (including probation)

I like it!
Maybe the trophy can be a split bottle of moonshine & everclear.

just a piss soaked coach that the winner gets to burn on their central campus when they win it
obviously you’d need a new one every year. maybe slumberland would get behind this?

Not an answer to the question asked...
…but can Jamie Pollard use his position as ‘Chairman of the ADs’ to stipulate any admission of Louisville into the conference requires they retain the nickname ‘Cardinals’ but adopt a new ‘Cyclone’ mascot? Symmetry demands it.

Also
Let’s make a brass cardinal for the rivalry trophy. If the Big 10 can fictionalize rivalries, so can the Big 12!

Speaking of which...
..does Missouri have to compensate ISU for the telephone trophy? Or did the negotiations from last year make it the property of the conference?
Funny
It’s no more. Missouri used it last year to catch fish in the lake of the ozarks.

I hope we get cinci and Lousiville too
I could see us having a healthy MBB and football rivalry with both of those schools
Funny...
…that is the same argument I had for adding Rice and Tulane.
Lol
Why not add all 4
Louisville and Cincinnati as well as Rice and Tulane
:)

No, but...
The combination of your ideas is brilliant:
Add Louisville, Rice, Tulane, and pilfer Vanderbilt from the SEC.
Rice, Tulane, and Vanderbilt would ameliorate the academic impact of adding WV and Louisville. Additionally, between the three of them, the Cyclones may be able to pick up another football win a season.
Well, they might so long as Tulane doesn’t hire Leach (or Rodriguez).
so when we go to 12
i think we should arrange for annual cross division rivalry to start conference play (by chance both could end up playing as division champions at the end of conference play)
Div A & Div B (Rivalry name)
Kansas State & Kansas (Sunflower Showdown since 1902)
Oklahoma & Oklahoma State (Bedlam Series since 1904)
Texas & Texas Tech (Chancellor’s Spurs since 1928)
Baylor & Texas Christian (106 games series)
Iowa State & West Virginia (since 2012 :)
X & Y
note since Iowa State and Kansas State would be in the same division, Farmageddon could be the Rivalry /Thanksgiving weekend game.
