BREAKING: All Sports Related Facilities In Iowa Located In Middle Of Cornfields
ESPN celebrated Royce-mania today by taking in depth look at his life, chronicling his anxiety, how he almost went to Kentucky, his rise at Iowa State, and the hours he puts in at the Sukup Basketball facility, "the multimillion-dollar building's brick facade and glistening glass belie the cornfields scattered around it. It's a vivid contrast to the surrounding area's rural roots."
Wait, what? Here's an actual shot of the Sukup Basketball Facility.

Here's a shot of construction, taken from the parking lot of the adjacent residential complex (that most ISU students have probably passed out partied at).

Apparently, Field of Dreams made ESPN believe we could only do sports related things in the middle of cornfields.

Valid point. I think the fact that the parking lot is
filled with tractors and combines threw ESPN off a little.
ESPN'S IOWA FACTS:
1) Everyone is born in a cornfield, and the father has to chase away the assorted crows and coyotes that try to steal the baby.
2) There are no cities, just barns and haybales that the simple country folk use as toilets
3) Everyone works on a farm from the time they can stand. The lucky few that go to college all work in veterinary medicine, ag sales or farm/flood insurance. The majority that don’t go to school become Grant Wood paintings.
4) A hearty, simple people, Iowans are known for their industriousness, politeness, and whittlin’ ability. If you ever meet an elderly Iowan, ask them to whittle you something. You’ll have a brand new corncob pipe in five minutes.
5) When an Iowan dies, the family gathers and places the body in John Deere combine. The combine is then pushed to the middle of the family farm and set ablaze, Viking-style.

field of dreams was on last night
what is costner even doing in the field with that shovel or whatever? the corn is like shoulder height and he’s walking around in it? “farming” I guess
just because I rock, doesn't mean I'm made of stone.
Well sure...
12 leaf corn is pretty close to getting ripe. You harvest it like potatoes, ya know.

Perhaps ESPN sends all of their reporters to the Microtel between Newton and Des Moines
The one literally built in a corn field.
