BlogPoll Top 25: Week 5 Ballot

Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

LSU continues to unimpress while Ohio State makes its way into the top 10 this week.

It's getting harder and harder to keep this ballot consistent while rewarding teams for big wins or staying undefeated. It's hard to rationalize USC falling 3 spots for being idle, but with Stanford's loss and the need to keep the Trojans below the Cardinal, it was the only solution. Same goes for Clemson and Oklahoma dropping 2 spots to give way to Oregon State and Louisville's undefeated records. Any thoughts on how to solve this logjam would be very welcome.

Not too much changes at the top of the Big 12, where the league looks as wide open as ever. West Virginia's offense looks like they can put up 200 on Savannah State, but for as dominant as Geno Smith and the offense looks, their defense has been equally unimpressive. Texas had to rally to win at Oklahoma State, with their defense being challenged. Kansas State was idle. The one major change, of course, was having to drop the Cyclones off my ballot while Texas Tech makes its first appearance at #24.
