ANOTHER DOUBLE WIN WEEKEND. As I'm sure you've all heard, the men used some hot 3 point shooting to take down Oklahoma, while the women used a big second half to win at Hilton against Texas.
STILL NOT RANKED. Iowa State is getting more votes, but is still not ranked in the AP or Coaches Poll. The Cyclones did make it to the Top 25 of CBS Sports poll though.
BRACKETOLOGY. Moving on up to a 9 seed on ESPN, and up to a 10 seed on SB Nation. Missouri also claims a #1 seed on the strength of their big win against KU.
JALEN ROSE IS NOSTRADAMUS. He always thought Fred Hoiberg would be a coach. If only he just did predictions instead of announcing...
PAUL RHOADS TALKS ABOUT BOBBY ELLIOT. And how Iowa State couldn't afford to keep him in this article about recruiting coordinators getting recruited for greener pastures themselves.
NEBRASKA IS ON PROBATION. FOR GIVING AWAY BOOKS TO ATHLETES. The irony is rich here.
EVERYONE WINS ON SIGNING DAY! At least all the coaches seem to think so.

About the Rankings (or Lack There Of)
Firstly, I think it is to our benefit not being ranked just yet.
Secondly, I believe that most people who do the voting for the polls look primarily at statistics, not team dynamics. Just look at the stats from ESPN’s page for ISU:
56th in Points per game
87th in Rebounds per game
88th in Assists
102nd in Field Goal Percent
On a whole, looks pretty mediocre. But, as we all know, those stats don’t tell the story; which is that this team is just starting to peak and has learned how to stay focused and not quit. If we win 3 of the next 5 (which is possible), we’ll be ranked. If we tank and go 1 for 5; well, then the stats were indicative.
I think we will win 3 or 4 of the next 5. I also think we will be at least a 7 seed in the tournament.
I would imagine winning both this week should do it
but really, the issue is teams above us not losing, more so than our credentials. We’re moving up among the "receiving votes" gang.
