For the Iowa State coaching staff, the wait was worth it. After courting 2013 Wisconsin prep Matt Thomas for over year a year, Thomas finally committed to the Cyclones on Thursday. According to Cyclone Fanatic's Chris Williams, Thomas let Fred Hoiberg and T.J. Otzelberger, his lead recruiters, know that he would be donning the Cardinal and Gold.
ESPN has Thomas ranked as a top-100 prospect for his class and Rivals has Thomas in their top-150. The state of Wisconsin has been good to the Cyclones over the years, producing talents like Diante Garrett and Scott Christopherson who went on to become vital pieces of the Cyclone program.
Thomas is projected to be a sharpshooter at the collegiate level, but is more than a spot up shooter and does bring some size, versatility and athleticism to the table.
