Calling my shot.....Sept 8th vs iowa

I could go through an exhaustive breakdown of the Cyclone-hawkeye game and give an opinion on who has the best o-line, kicker, defensive ends, etc, as has been done here, there and everywhere this week.

But what's the point?

The hawkeye game last week played out in a worst-case scenario for Cyclone fans. They played horribly, but good enough to win. The coaching staff was given plenty to work with this week in practice and the improvement for a college football team is always greatest between weeks one and two. If the hawkeyes would have lost, it might have put them in an emotional tailspin and that could have caused a season long disaster and iowa fans just might have got a new coach who's name they could actually pronounce on sports radio shows. But, it didn't happen ( I almost used alas like the late, great Marc Hansen) and the hawks are right on track with their win last week.

College football is a game of emotion and since this is the hawkeye's Super Bowl and they are at home, you HAVE to give them some consideration. Kinnick stadium is one of the toughest places to play in the country. Home field advantage is worth about a touchdown here, in my opinion.

In this series, sometimes the team with the most talent wins, but often times the team that has the most emotion, is the best coached and has the biggest HEART wins.

This year, one team has all those categories wrapped up.

The Iowa State Cyclones.

Mr and Mrs Sully are headed to "Jack Trice East" to watch the Cyclone victory in Section 108.

Iowa State Cyclones 35

hawkeyes 7

Go Cyclones!!!
