1917: Kansas State coming into this game had scored 53 points while shutting out two teams and only allowing 15 points. Flying high at 4-1, the Wildcats had the best team in their then 21 year history. The 1919 version of the BOMB describes the game as follows:

"A big crowd appeared for this, home-coming game and all went away feeling that they had witnessed a real afternoon of football. Ames scored early when Wallace blocked a punt and fell on it for a touchdown. At the end of the half the score was even to nothing in favor of Ames. Kansas opened up an offensive and earned a touchdown, the only earned one scored against Ames this fall. The game was a tie until a few minutes before the whistle blew, when Boyd drop kicked a goal, thereby winning the game 10 to 7. It was a battle royal and the teams were evenly matched."

This would be our first homecoming game win in school history. The Wallace mentioned (and pictured) is Leigh "Polly" Wallace, who would be named in 1920 as a first team All-American, the first Cyclone ever to be a First Team All-American football player. Wallace also was a standout wrestler for ISU, going 13-0-1 and being the Captain and heavyweight champion in 1921.

1937-1952: Iowa State goes on a tear during this time period, going 13-1-2 only losing 7-6 in the 1942 version of the series.

1959-1989: Iowa State goes on another winning streak, only losing 7 games in this period. In years we went to bowl games ('71, '72, '77, and '78) we went 4-0 against the Wildcats. (Program cover is from a 17-0 ISU victory)

1989 again: Bill Snyder's first year at Kansas State, and the Cyclones (and the garlic) beat our old vampire nemesis 36-11.

1993: A wild streaker appeared! Not only that, this game featured an offensive lineman getting a reception, and a call by a referee that (guess what) doesn't go our way. However, 3 fourth quarter touchdowns led to an ISU upset of the #18 Wildcats.

2009 and 2010: Arrowhead Stadium, the most unbearable of all stadiums for Iowa State to play in. Now before you throw stuff at me, remember Iowa State is 0-3 in this stadium all time. These were the first "Farmageddon" games in our history, as that was what the media dubbed these games in Kansas City.

2014: The Jarvis West game. For the first time since 1998 in either FBS and FCS, Jarvis became the first player since then to catch a touchdown pass, return a punt for a touchdown, and throw for a touchdown in the same game.

2015: What a nice game until the end, right?
