If at first you don’t succeed, try again?
While Iowa State was heavily involved in the recruitment of Ed Morrow, who ultimately landed at Marquette, Steve Prohm and Co. eventually secured the commitment of a transfer forward from Nebraska.
BREAKING: Nebraska transfer Mike Jacobson has committed to iowa State. #Cyclones

Michael Jacobson, a Waukee, IA native, committed to the Cyclones on Monday, taking one of the two remaining 2018 scholarships.
Jacobson is a 6-foot-9, 240 pound forward who averaged 6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1 assist per game while starting all 31 games as a sophomore in 2017. Jacobson has played in 65 games, while making 56 starts, and reached double-figures scoring in eight games this past season.
His departure from Nebraska was part of a mass-exodus of players leaving Tim Miles’ program, as four total players, including Ed Morrow, transferred out of a program on a steep decline. For more information on Jacobson’s game, and the circumstances surrounding his transfer, check out this article from Corn Nation.
Going forward, Jacobson should provide some nice depth for the Cyclones upon being eligible for the 2018-19 season. He played a more major role for the Huskers once Morrow was lost due to injury, and projects as a nice rebounder and solid post player on offense.
A year off should do Jacobson some good in terms of giving him the opportunity to sharpen his offensive skills and improve his jumper. If both of these things happen, watch for Jacobson to make a real impact in his two years as a Cyclone.
