Yesterday was a pretty damn good day for Cyclones in Texas.
We don't spend a lot of time focusing on the "non-revenue" sports here at WRNL, but this really does deserve a special mention. Yesterday, while the football team was playing lights out in Lubbock, the Women's Cross Country team was clinching their first ever Big XII title in College Station.
Anchoring the Cyclones was junior Meghan Nelson, who notched a second place finish and who was 3.5 seconds shy of taking home the individual title. Dana Stack and Betsy Saina also recieved All-Big XII honors, but the real key to this win was the over-achieving 4th and 5th runners, Morgan Casey and Taylor Petersen, who finished 20th and 27th respectively.
Congratulations to Coach Ihmels and his squad, who will be heading out to the Midwest NCAA regional in Dekalb on Nov. 12. Full Individual and Team results can be found here, and if you're the Twittering type, send your congratulations and well-wishes to @ISUtrackXC
