The Mid-Morning Dump - 11/07/11

Wrnlmidmorningdump_medium Iowa State Football

ISU 13, KU 10. Notable: Barnett’s 125 rushing yards was the first time an Iowa State quarterback went over the century mark since Bret Meyer in the 2004 Independence Bowl against Miami of Ohio.

Iowa State Basketball

The widely hyped transfer class started play Saturday and won an exhibition against Grand Valley State, 77-62. While the Clones were far from impressive, Melvin Ejim continued to make non conference season his time, this time piling in 26 pts, the most in an exhibition since Rahshon Clark's 23 against Bemidji State in 2005.

The women are now 2-0 after a win against Rockhurst. Off the court, former Cyclone star Alison Lacey is apparently interested in returning to Iowa. Perhaps a coaching job is in her future?

Around College Football

What the hell, Joe Paterno... the news out of Happy Valley is anything but happy. Black Shoe Diaries can enlighten you on the allegations against Jerry Sandusky, as well as the beginning of the aftermath.

Here are your updated BCS projections. This weekend's matchups cleared up some of the picture, and yet muddled it at the same time. On an afternoon where IOWA FREAKIN' STATE made a clutch kick to win, Alabama missed 3 and got one blocked. On the other hand, Oklahoma State can't stop Collin Klein doing his best Tim Tebow impression, and LSU can't find a good QB. Some huge flaws being exposed may make the end of the season more interesting than once thought.

And officially... goodbye to Missouri. We hardly knew ye.
