Iowa State will be playing in the Pinstripe Bowl against Rutgers, in what will basically be a home game for them. Be sure to stop by On The Banks, Rutgers' SB Nation site, to drop some hate/love/useless banter. Also, check out Scarlet Nation, their Rivals site.

The Pinstripe Bowl will not disclose their gifts to participants, unlike almost every other bowl out there.

The hidden element of bowl game eligibility is the extra practice teams are allowed because of it, as Steve Malchow details here.

If you're interested in going, tickets are $45, $100, or $115. More details available here.

Iowa State Basketball

Finally, an easy win. Iowa State smoked Prairie View A&M 84-59. Of note here was that Percy Gibson started in place of Royce White (late for team function) and Chris Allen started at PG. Both shined in their new roles. Royce seemed to react well to the change as well, as the duo of he and Gibson were unstoppable at time.

Next up for the Cyclones is the Friday matchup against the Hawkeyes, who lost to UNI last night, 80-60. Fran McCaffrey getting tossed and escorted from the game by security.

Around College Football

Larry Fedora has accepted the UNC job, taking him out of the running for A&M. Maybe he read this article calling the A&M job a death sentence? This leaves Kevin Sumlin as the main contender, though he may or may not be close to accepting an offer from Illinois. Crazy rumor now is RC Slocum called Tommy Tuberville to gauge his interest. This is hilarious to me, though I'd certainly miss him and his 0-2 record against Paul Rhoads in the Big 12.

The Big East is adding Boise State, Houston, San Diego State, Central Florida, and SMU. Next up on the Big East's docket: The University of Alaska.

The Numerical looks at championship weekend stats.

And if you haven't seen this video of Chip Kelly having a REAL GOOD TIME, you're missing out.
