Settle in for the 100 straight non-consecutive days of why you should cheer for the cardinal and gold over all esle.
Countdown to Kickoff: Days 82-72
Whoa, hey there guys. We didn't forget about our loyal readers. We just needed some "space". I assure you, it's not you, it's me.
In reality this hiatus happened for two reasons:
1. Like other members of our staff, my "real" career is undergoing some significant changes that eats away my free time.
2. I wanted to piggy back off the Know Your Enemy page views for Texas A&M and Baylor.
Anyway, here are 11 non-consecutive reasons to be a Cyclone fan. All Campustown related. They also may or may not exist currently. Sorry young'uns, some of the places on the list hold a special place in the heart of our older demographic.
11. Gyros - Have you ever had these sober? They're awful. #11 on the list because of their awesomeness while drunk but terribleness when sober.
10. Legend's - Definitely not for the food, but for the view of campus.
9. Es Tas - Those tacos they sell on the street make you pay for it the next morning but going down they taste just like Drew Tate's tears.
8. Little Taipei/Cocost - Cheap, cheap Chinese within walking distance of nearly anywhere.
7. Jeff's Pizza - Easily one of the best food options to happen to Campustown in the last 10 years.
6. Sips - Where else can you go to get athletes' rejected groupies with low self-esteem?
5. Welch Avenue Station - A personal favorite of mine, easily the best place to watch a game and get good beer in Campustown. Now comes without stale smoke smell!
4. Lumpy's - Sure it's awesome when you're drunk but the only reason it's not down with Gyros at #11 is becuase of the ability to pee anywhere. Including the foosball table and bar. $.25 draws of Michelob Golden Light don't hurt it's ranking either.
3. Mickey's FAC - There's something about going to drink at 3:00 PM and walking out at 6:00 realizing it's still daylight, you have eight hours unti the bars close, and you're getting up in 12 hours to tailgate.
2. Towers - A little south of Campustown but back in its heyday was easily the best place to start your college career.

1. People's - They may be closed but every night was a party. Whether it be Monday Night Football, Buck Burgers, FAC or a band on Saturday you always went to the bar coming away with a story.
