The Mid-Morning Dump - 11/5/12

A daily collection of links on the Cyclones and sports in general.

POST OU REACTION. Players talk about the loss to the Sooners.

PAUL RHOADS IS HAPPY. Despite the setback Saturday, Rhoads thinks the team is "doing enough of the things that successful teams do to win."

FIXING THE DEFENSE. Iowa State's defense gave up 593 yards and let Oklahoma convert 9-14 on third down, and are now looking to regroup.

EXHIBITION EXAMINATION. Melvin Ejim, Tyrus McGee, and Fred Hoiberg chat about the easy win over Minnesota State.

EVERYONE COME SEE HOW CRAZY KENTUCKY FANS ARE. The topic of hiring Paul Rhoads to replace Joker Phillips was brought up on a message board, and it gives us empirical evidence Kentucky fans should probably just stick to basketball.

OREGON PASSES NOTRE DAME. Needing multiple overtimes to beat Pitt resulted in the Fighting Irish dropping to fourth in the BCS standings.

SPEAKING OF PITT. Jason Kirk still has us projected for the Pinstripe Bowl, for a date with the Panthers.

MORE BOWL PROJECTIONS. Just like Jason Kirk, David Ubben still has the Cyclones slotted for the same bowl as pre-Oklahoma, but it's the Meineke Car Care Bowl. Meawhile, CBS Sports has the Cyclones headed to the Heart of Dallas Bowl, while Scout.com agrees with Pinstripe.

VOLLEYBALL WIN. A sweep of Texas Tech puts the Cyclones on a 6 game winning streak.

PROBLEMS IN MANHATTAN? Collin Klein reportedly suffered a concussion Saturday, reportedly not remembering his last scoring play.

NOT BOB STOOPS. This isn't about one of those weird (and sometimes stupid) parody Twitter accounts, but rather how Bob Stoops' voice isn't his own in his new AT&T commercial.

RIDICULOUS ELI PHOTO. Eli Manning's eyes are trying to escape his head.
