Game Thread: ISU vs. George Mason

Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sport

Iowa State and George Mason kick off the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic at 4:30 CST in sunny Honolulu, Hawaii. #17 (AP) Iowa State looks to move to 9-0 on the year and put themselves into Monday's semi-final game. George Mason sits at 5-4 and has lost its last two and four of its last five. As far as common opponents go, George Mason holds a 76-70 win over UNI and lost to our Big 12 brother, Oklahoma, 81-66 on December 8th.

The Patriots are led by senior guard, Sherrod Wright, who comes into this game averaging 16.3 points and is shooting 46% from the field. George Mason isn't exactly an offensive juggernaut, but that's partly due to their style of play, which features a much more deliberate offensive approach.

This game can be seen on ESPNU and heard on the Cyclone Radio Network. Kenpom.com gives Iowa State an 84% win probability and predicts a final score of 80-69.
