It's anniversary day!

Programming Note

Some of you noticed, but for those of you that didn't, our logo has changed for the next week.  SB Nation has partnered with the It's On Us campaign to stop sexual violence.

Iowa State Basketball

ROLL DAMN HOIBALL. Iowa State moved easily past Georgia Southern State last night with a second half scoring outburst.

LOTS OF KEYS. The defense was a key to slowing Georgia State in the second half, and Monte Morris provided the spark for it.  Another key?  Your starting five all scoring in double figures.

IMPRESSIVE DISMANTLING. Bobby La Gesse writes about how impressive last night's dismantling of Georgia State was.  All without Matt Thomas, Abdel Nader, and Jameel McKay.

GET OUTTA HERE. A vine of Dustin Hogue's block on Ryan Harrow.

HOSTS WITH THE MOST. Iowa State is hosting the 2016 NCAA Men's Basketball first and second rounds in Des Moines.  Sure, Iowa State can't play in it, but it's good news for the school and the Big XII.  The complete listing of sites for 2016-2018 can be found here.

LADY NEWCOMER. New center Bryanna Fernstrom earned the Big XII's Freshman of the Week award after her debut this weekend.

DEJA VU. Bill Fennelly says defensive improvement is a key to success for the women's team.

Iowa State Football

RICHARDSON ON A PITCH COUNT. No, this isn't baseball, but Sam Richardson is nursing his throwing shoulder back to health this week by being on a pitch count.  If this doesn't scream AC joint injury, I don't know what does.

MAD AS HELL AND NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE. Paul Rhoads is frustrated just like the rest of us, and seems to fully understand the issues facing the football team and fan support.

STILL ON THE HOT SEAT THOUGH. Rhoads makes this week's edition of the mothership's hot seat article; where Patrick Vint theorizes that Rhoads' buyout might be worse than Kirk Ferentz's.

BIBBS SPIN MACHINE. The biggest bright spot of the Iowa State offense is E.J. Bibbs' inclusion in the Mackey Award Semifinalists, but now Mike Green shows us how Bibbs stacks up to his competition.

Iowa State Volleyball

MORE AWARDS. Iowa State's move to a 6-2 set has spawned a winning streak, and more awards as libero Caitlin Nolan earned Big XII Defensive Player of the Week, and middle blocker Alexis Conaway earned Big XII Rookie of the Week.

The National Landscape

ALL DAY SITTING. Adrian Peterson has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

ALL DAY SITTING AND WATCHING. College basketball's Tip-Off Marathon has begun.  It's not March Madness, but it's still fun.

BE GLAD HE'S GONE. Former Kansas State point guard, and current Miami resident, Angel Rodriguez had a great game against 8th ranked Florida last night, including this game winner.

SHABAZZ'D. Shabazz Napier breaks all the ankles.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE. Art Briles admits to passing off his 2008 Coaches Poll ballot that ranked Oklahoma four spots higher than Texas.  Most head coaches do this, but it's nice to see Briles admit it.

BAD RESUMES. Every team vying for a College Football Playoff berth has a blemish on their resume.
