Iowa State earned a 3-seed in this year's NCAA Tournament and will be placed in the East Region with their Second and Third round games taking place in San Antonio on Friday and Sunday.
The Cyclones' opponent will be the North Carolina Central Eagles from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. NCC is making their first NCAA Tournament appearance and is 28-5 on the year with their last loss coming to Florida A&M on January 11th. The Eagles other losses were to Cincinnati, IUPUI, Wichita State, and Maryland.
Awaiting the winner of the match up between the Cyclones and the Eagles will be the winner of the 6-11 match up between North Carolina and Providence. North Carolina was one of the hottest teams in the country down the stretch and Providence earned their way into the tournament with a Big East tournament championship victory over Creighton.
