Iowa State Cyclones 27 - (2) Baylor Bears 45
A heavy rain and Iowa State's revamped defense did little to stop the nation's number one offense during the opening 22 minutes of play in Waco and Cyclone Nation was preparing itself for another deflating loss. Enter Joel Lanning.
The backup quarterback, who was quite un-impressive in his first scheduled series earlier in the game, ignited a spark in an uninspired team leading the charge for the remaining two and a half quarters. His three touchdown passes, and 144 passing yards, helped the Cyclones recover from three first half turnovers (two interceptions from Richardson), outscoring Baylor 27-10 over that time.
Baylor Quarterback, Seth Russell, left the game in the fourth quarter with a neck injury that x-rays would later show was a broken bone in his neck.
Kansas State Wildcats 9 - Texas Longhorns 23
Texas backup, and former starter, Tyrone Swoopes, scored three touchdowns in Texas' second victory over Kansas State since 2003. The Longhorns continued to use a strong running game (274 yards) against the Wildcats to secure their third win in 2015.
Kansas State managed only 242 yards of total offense in the loss.
Texas Tech Red Raiders 27 - (17) Oklahoma Sooners 63
Texas Tech proved once more that a one dimensional team that struggles on the road is not a recipe for success as they allowed 614 total yards to a hungry Sooners' offense. Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon combined for 355 yards rushing and six touchdowns on the day. Tech transfer, Baker Mayfield, threw for two touchdowns and 212 yards against his old teammates.
Current Red Raider quarterback, Patrick Mahomes II, threw four interceptions in one of his worst outings of the year as the Red Raiders fell to 2-3 in conference play.
Kansas Jayhawks 10 - (14) Oklahoma State Cowboys 58
With the flag flying at half-staff to mourn the victims of Saturday morning's homecoming parade tragedy, Oklahoma State backup quarterback, J.W. Walsh, ran for three touchdowns and passed for two more as the Cowboys routed the Jayhawks, 58-10.
