Zachary Norvell Commits to Gonzaga

2016, Top 100 shooting guard prospect out of Chicago picks Gonzaga over Iowa State, Georgetown and Florida State.

Yet another domino for the 2016 recruiting class fell this morning as Simeon (Chicago, IL) product Zachary Norvell committed to the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Norvell had previously visited Iowa State on the weekend of October 3rd with fellow 2016 SG Jakolby Long who committed to Iowa State on October 9th.

247 Sports had the 6'4" guard ranked as their 94th overall prospect and 16th best shooting guard for the 2016 class. Norvell took visits to Gonzaga, Georgetown and Florida State in addition to his early October trip to Ames.

The Cyclones still have two remaining scholarships available for the 2016 class and will likely continue to look for another high school guard prospect on their way to rounding out the class. Charlie Moore, a 4-star point guard prospect also from Chicago, is looking to make an Iowa State official visit soon, although it is undecided as to when that will be.

It is unlikely that the Cyclones will see any more action before the November 11th early signing date, however, Coach Prohm and his staff have already made great strides in filling out the 2016 class. Four prospects have verbally committed to Iowa State for the 2016 season, and the staff will have a lot of flexibility going forward in how it chooses to fill the two remaining scholarships.
