Iowa State Drops to No. 5 in AP Top 25

Apparently a 3-0 week wasn't impressive enough to hold the #4 ranking.

Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Iowa State managed the impressive feat of dropping a spot in the rankings after bringing home an Emerald Coast Classic Championship and finishing the week 3-0 including two wins against power five opponents.

Kansas jumps ahead of the Cyclones, after winning the prestigious Maui Invitational. Elsewhere in the Big 12, Oklahoma moves to #6 ahead of Duke, West Virginia makes its first appearance at #20, and Baylor returns to the polls at #25.

Some notable Iowa State opponents include Cincinnati jumping all the way up to #17 and Texas A&M, moving to #18 after an impressive one-point win over Gonzaga. Both UNI (31) and Iowa (40) received some votes as well.

The Godfather has his Rams rolling at 5-1 which garnered the same number of votes as the Hawkeyes, but they both sit a couple votes behind Tim Floyd's undefeated UTEP Miners.
