Week 10 Results
(6) Baylor Bears 31 - Kansas State Wildcats 24
Proving some magic still exists in Manhattan, an undermanned Wildcat squad fought back and nearly pushed No. 6 Baylor into overtime on Thursday night. Jarrett Stidham, the true freshman quarterback replacing an injured Seth Russell, was impressive in his first start for the Bears, throwing for 419 yards and three touchdowns.
Kansas State quarterback Joe Hubener ran for 153 yards and two touchdowns and threw for one more late in the fourth quarter to put the Wildcats down one score with 4:07 left to play. A Baylor missed field goal gave Kansas State one more opportunity to force overtime but a wide receiver pass was intercepted by Terrell Burt securing the road victory for Art Briles' team.
Texas Tech Red Raiders 26 - West Virginia Mountaineers 31
West Virginia took advantage of an offense that struggles on the road and an always poor Red Raider defense to pick up their first Big 12 win of 2015. The victory was a relief to the Mountaineers who faced each of the conference elite during the month of October.
Texas Tech was limited to 378 yards of offense on the day, while allowing 300 yards on the ground by the Mountaineers' running backs.
(8) TCU Horned Frogs 29 - (14) Oklahoma State Cowboys 49
Oklahoma State proved it was a team worthy of a Big 12 title and spot in the College Football Playoff with its dominating performance over No. 8 TCU in Stillwater on Saturday afternoon. Trevone Boykin threw for 445 yards (but four interceptions) for the Horned Frogs, who now face a difficult path to the College Football Playoff.
Mason Rudolph threw for 352 yards and five touchdowns for a Cowboys team looking to put the reputation of a team benefiting from a weak schedule behind them this month. Saturday was a great start to that end.
Iowa State Cyclones 16 - (15) Oklahoma Sooners 52
Seriously, what did you expect?
Kansas Jayhawks 20 - Texas Longhorns 59
Texas is not a very good team. One week they can play well and the next week they can be flat. This was true as the Longhorns, fresh off a humiliating shutout in Ames, dominated a hapless Kansas Jayhawk team trying to get to the offseason as quickly as possible.
Texas discovered they could throw the ball down the field on occasion, passing for 299 yards and two touchdowns on the night. They matched that output on the ground, led by D'Onta Foreman's 157 yard two touchdown night.
Kansas kept it close for a half before the Longhorns asserted their dominance over the last place team in the third and fourth quarters.
