On This Day in Sports History
DECEMBER 17, 2000. 49ers WR Terrell Owens set a then-NFL single-game record with 20 receptions in a 17-0 win over the Bears. The record stood nearly nine years until Dec. 13, 2009, when Brandon Marshall recorded 21 catches in a 28-16 Broncos loss to the Colts. You'll have to believe me with Owens; Marshall's highlight reel is below. They are equally as impressive.
Iowa State Basketball
DON'T STOP B3LI3VING. Because Naz Mitrou-Long refuses to.
YEAH GUYS, SHUT UP. He's not going anywhere.
Naz Mitrou-Long just told me to "kill all the rumors" of him possibly leaving Iowa State.

LIFE WITHOUT OUR SAVIOR. When you're a man down in college basketball, there's speculation abound about how the lineup and rotations will look going forward. Travis Hines does his best to help you rest easy (WARNING: New England Patriots references inside).
I THINK IT'S BROKEN. Jay Bilas' "Bilas Index" slots Iowa State at 11th in the country. You'll need ESPN Insider for this. Ask nicely and I'm sure someone will gift you their credentials. All you're going to be is mad, though.
Iowa State Volleyball
TODAY I LEARNED WHAT A LIBERO IS. "Defensive specialist" Caitlin Nolan earned AVCA Second Team All-American honors, improving upon her Third Team selection last year. Her stats are pretty outstanding.
Iowa State Football
ANOTHER WARREN AWARD. Give him all of your trophies, and he'll take that cool looking wristwatch too.
BATTING 1.000. Matt Campbell believes he's gone a solid 5-for-5 on the recruiting trail thus far, and he talks about them all.
Around The Country
MONMOUTH REMAINS ELITE. I don't even care that we've dumped Monmouth basketball about three times already this year. I don't care that we did it yesterday. Here's the Sistine Chapel bench celebration and other stuff that's too good not to share again.
THANKS FROM THE TANK. 2015 Wooden Award winner Frank Kaminsky penned a heartfelt thank you letter to his former coach Bo Ryan, and it's a must-read.
CAT-LIKE REFLEXES. Current clubhouse leader for college basketball's best name, North Carolina State's Cat Barber, hit this game winner to beat High Point last night.
Awesome sideline video that was just sent to me of Cat Barber's game-winner tonight. https://t.co/zMecpXLPfn

CANUCK SHOOTY HOOPS. Vancouver will be the newest city to host a regular season college basketball tournament, beginning in 2017 and 2018. The exhibition space in the city's convention center will be transformed into a 3,000-seat venue. Teams for the '17 tournament will be announced soon.
NCAA AND CBS IN TALKS. You know how every March Madness you have to flip between CBS, TBS, TNT and my personal favorite, TruTV, to take in the full breadth of the glorious tournament? It doesn't sound like that's ending anytime soon.
A BIT OF BASEBALL NEWS AND WE'LL MOVE ON. Todd Frazier got traded to the White Sox?
WOW JUST NO CLASS. Look at this asshole Tim Duncan.
NO BUT REALLY, THIS GUY IS A DICK. Gilbert Arenas had some neat things to say about the WNBA. I've learned a lot of things in my short time on earth, GA, and one of them is don't fuck with women.
