Brady Ernst, a 6'8", 215 lb Forward from Clinton, Iowa, will join the Cyclones for the upcoming season. According to Rivals.com, he also had offers from Drake, Lehigh, Northern Iowa, San Diego and South Dakota. Recently retained assistant coach, T.J. Otzelberger, led the way in recruiting the local big man.
During the most recent high school season, Ernst was averaging nearly 17 points and 12 rebounds per game before suffering an ACL injury in late February. Despite the setback, Ernst plans on being ready to compete at the start of the season.
Per Travis Hines, of the Ames Tribune, Brady had a total of 13 offers and was Iowa's top-ranked player before suffering his knee injury:
Ernst had 13 offers and was our top-rated Iowa player in 2015 at @PrepHoopsIA before the injury.

This appears to be insurance for a 2015/16 Iowa State squad that isn't very deep in the post, especially with Georgios Tsalmpouris' return very much up in the air. This leaves one remaining open scholarship for Iowa State this fall.
