Murray State's Steve Prohm to Take Over Iowa State Basketball

Prohm is 104-29 in his four seasons as Murray State's head coach.

Multiple news outlets are reporting that Steve Prohm, the current head coach at Murray State, has reached an agreement to become the head coach of Iowa State men's basketball.

Contract details have not been publicized at this time, but over the weekend rumors broke that Jamie Pollard was looking to spend in the $1.5 to $1.75M range, which would be a three fold increase over the salary Prohm is earning after his contract extension earlier this year.

Prohm is widely regarded as an excellent Xs and Os coach and plays an up tempo style of basketball that fans in Ames are used to. There would be concerns about his ability to coach at a high level, and he's never coached outside of the South. However, Matt Norlander lays a lot of those concerns to rest:
