Iowa State received a commitment from offensive lineman Grant Hermanns on Wednesday night. Hailing from Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Hermanns visited ISU back in June and received an offer at that time. At 6-foot-6, 255 pounds, Hermanns will be an asset to a team that has great leadership on the line this year, but will be losing seniors Oni Omoile, Jamison Lalk, and Brock Dagel.
Hermanns also had offers from Kansas, Texas Tech, Washington State, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, and San Diego State. When visiting back in June.
Hermanns noted the fan base as a huge influence in his decision.
"The biggest thing for me that stood out is their fan base honestly. All the support they get from fan coming to games," said Hermanns. "They pack the games every game no matter whether they're winning or losing."
