Week 3 Results
Tulsa 38 - (16)Oklahoma 52
Baker Mayfield set a school record with 572 yards in just his third start for No. 16 Oklahoma, throwing for four touchdowns and running for two more. Smaje Perine added 152 rushing yards to the Sooners' 764 yards of total offensive output.
Tulsa amassed 597 yards of their own during this game that apparently lacked any defensive effort from either sideline.
Louisiana Tech 33 - Kansas State 39 (3 OT)
Kansas State (3-0) had allowed three total points in their first two games of 2015, but trailed Louisiana Tech (1-2) 20-13 midway through the fourth quarter before returner Dominic Heath returned a Bulldog punt 58 yards to the 7 yard line. Two plays later, Charles Jones tied the game with a 2 yard touchdown run forcing the first of three overtimes.
Louisiana Tech outgained the Wildcats 451-355 behind 314 passing yards.
UTSA 14 - (25)Oklahoma State 69
In their third game of the season, Oklahoma State finally turned up the effort on defense, forcing seven turnovers and allowing just 323 total yards. The Cowboys' offense combined for 510 total yards and seven of the teams' nine touchdowns.
Texas Tech 35 - Arkansas 24
I'll let Kliff handle this one.
California 45 - Texas 44
Jerrod Heard was a missed extra point away from leading his team back from a 21 point fourth quarter deficit. The freshman quarterback set a school record with 527 total yards of offense including three rushing touchdowns.
Things are looking up (in a way) for the Longhorns, who enter conference play with a 1-2 record for the third straight year.
SMU 37 - (3)TCU 56
SMU couldn't keep up with a TCU offense that scored 14 points per quarter and racked up 708 total net yards. Trevone Boykin continued his quest for the Heisman throwing for five touchdowns and running for one more.
Iowa State 23 - Toledo 30 (2 OT)
I'll focus on the positives.
481 yards of offense.
207 rushing yards.
15-23 third down conversions.
Good defensive effort - 309 yards allowed (gave up 425 yards, including 236 on the ground, last year in Ames).
No major injuries.
