What to Know

We're Talking Kansas State, Sort Of - Cylentbutdeadly believes EVERYONE needs to do better for Iowa State to end their early-season conference struggles.

Preview: K-State vs. Iowa State Cyclones - Bring On The Cats pinpoints momentum, shot-making and defending the long ball as the key for KSU.

Iowa St.-Kansas St. Preview - ESPN says a loss to K-State today would be the final blow to ISU's Big 12 title hopes.

Prediction

Travis Hines broke the news this morning that reserve guard Hallice Cooke has been suspended for today's game due to a violation of team rules.

Likely, this will lead to some playing time for Jordan Ashton off the bench to help shoulder the load for Iowa State's thin rotation. Going with only six guys would be a massive gamble for Coach Prohm, especially if one or two of the starters get into early foul trouble.

Kansas State was expected to be hot garbage this year after a ton of attrition during the offseason, but Bruce Weber has the Wildcats playing at a respectable level, and no win in Bramlage Coliseum ever comes easy for the Cyclones. ISU must put more emphasis into every defensive possession during this game if they're to come away with a road victory, and I think they will.

However, if they don't, then it'll officially be time to press the panic button in Ames (in my opinion).

Cyclones win, but not by much.
