Week 10 Recap
You’ve deleted your Twitter account, unfriended dozens of Facebook friends and are dreading Thanksgiving dinner conversation. You have every right to be pissed about what has transpired this last week. I can assure, though, it will get better.
How do I know? It sure has hell can’t get much worse. This time next week the talk will shift from our lousy week in betting Big 12 football games to another performance America can be proud of.
Before we move on to this week’s picks we must unfortunately adhere to our promise at the beginning of the year to be transparent. Transparency should be a four letter word.

Well, Baylor’s "CAB" efforts last week were a total disaster, and if you ever had any doubts about karma you shouldn’t any longer. Karma always wins and the Bears got absolutely smoked by TCU.
If we live in a world where the Cubs can win the World Series then we can live in a world where the Big 12 can rid themselves of Baylor right? Contraction, not expansion. Maybe that is the answer to all of the Big 12’s problems.
Oklahoma is quietly gaining steam rolling through their Big 12 slate. Could a 10-2 Oklahoma team make the CFP? No.
Two touchdowns is a lot to lay down. Especially to a Baylor team capable of so much. Will last week’s disaster take any remaining wind out of their sail?
Oklahoma gets some players back from suspension and it will be more fun to root for the Sooners.
The Picks: Oklahoma -15.5, UNDER 80
The Bets: $33 each
Iowa State (1-8) @ Kansas (1-8)
Saturday, 11 AM, FSN
Line: ISU -10
O/U: 56

How bad is the Big 12 this year? Three 11 o’clock games for the league on a Saturday that has a tremendously poor slate across the nation. This game though has all the makings of an 11 a.m. snooze-fest.
Inconsistent offenses? Check. Mediocre defenses? Check. Two teams searching for their first conference win? Check.
There are even some people that will voluntarily go to this game (me). Crazy right?
If Kansas is able to upset the Cyclones on Saturday, there will be dozens of happy fans partying it up in Lawrence. Come to think of it, the Cyclone fans will probably join in on the fun either way. Apathy at its finest.
Is it basketball season yet?
The Picks: Iowa State -10, OVER 56
The Bets: $33, $55
West Virginia (7-1) @ Texas (5-4)
Saturday, 11 AM, FS1
Line: Texas -2
O/U: 64

If Texas fans are angry that Charlie Strong is still the coach, they can pass all of the blame onto D’Onta Foreman. That man has been a one-man wrecking crew for the Longhorns and without him, Strong might be applying for the defensive backs position at Electoral College.
West Virginia was probably the Big 12’s last hope for getting a team into the College Football Playoff. When they traveled to Stillwater and left without a win, all hopes of a Big 12 team in the playoff went out the window.
Could it be that West Virginia just isn’t as good as their 7-1 record? It could. Texas has more talent on the sidelines than West Virginia. I know, I know...talent only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades but you get the point. Iowa State needs Texas to be elite in order to really make some progress in the Big 12 pecking order.
Hook ‘em.
The Pick: Texas -2, UNDER 64
The Bet: $44, $33
Texas Tech (4-5) @ Oklahoma State (7-2)
Saturday, 2:30 PM, FS1
Line: OSU -12.5
O/U: 90

Mullet vs Shades.
How big was the end of that Oklahoma State vs Central Michigan game now? Standing at 8-1 you could make a case that OSU would be in the playoff conversation. They messed up, the officials messed up and now it's a moot point.
We could see some fireworks in this one. I haven’t been terribly impressed by either team so far this year. Bill Parcells used to say you are what your record says you are. In this case I might be off a little bit on the Cowboys, because they don’t pass the "eye test."
Is it March yet?
The Picks: Texas Tech +12.5, UNDER 90
The Bets: $44 each
