Mississippi Valley State comes into Hilton Coliseum tonight with a record of 0-11. It might be rude to say that the alma mater Jerry Rice has always been poor record wise on the season coming into this game, but, it's true. Sorry. In five prior meetings, we have outscored Mississippi Valley State 429-276.
Dec. 3, 1999: 106-64. Fizer led the way with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Michael Nurse (pictured) chipped in 16. "I told the players not only do we want to win, but you need to enjoy and have fun with what you're doing as well," Eustachy said. "I saw that enthusiasm." The Delta Devils would also lose to Michigan State this season.

Craig Brackins currently plays for Jiangsu Hualan(can't confirm) and Wes Eikmeier is currently in his first season as a graduate assistant manager at Nebraska.

Dec. 31, 2014: 83-33. In what would be Fred Hoiberg's 100th win as a coach, Iowa State started hot and by the end of the first half, the score was 48-17, with the Cyclones connecting on 66.67% of their shots. Naz Mitrou-Long lead the way with 24 points. Bryce Dejean-Jones finished with a team high 8 assists.Kourtlin Jackson punctuated the win with an emphatic dunk. (Kourtlin Jackson playing for Southern Miss last season scored a career high 40 points in a game, not bad for a guy who at Hoover HS averaged 8.8ppg and 4rpg as a senior.)
