Getting Up to Speed

Recap: ISU House'd by Aggies in Big 12/SEC Challenge - Free throws and turnovers doomed the Cyclones in their first trip to College Station since 2012.

We're Talking West Virginia - (FOUL)

Mountaineers Travel to Ames for Riot Ball - The Smoking Musket previews tonight's game and predicts a single-digit ISU victory.

West Virginia-Iowa St. Preview - Iowa State has yet to lose to the Mountaineers at home.

Prediction

Neither ISU nor West Virginia played well in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, but the Cyclones kept it close against the Texas A&M Aggies, while the Florida Gators absolutely curb-stomped the Mountaineers.

This will be the second game for WVU without starting forward Jonathan Holton, who is suspended indefinitely. Unless Bob Huggins whipped his boys into shape over the last couple days, they're going to have to make some big adjustments to play at a high level without Holton in the lineup.

An Iowa State win tonight would make it FIVE teams with three losses in Big 12 play (West Virginia, Baylor, Texas, Kansas, Iowa State), with the Oklahoma Sooners being the only team that has yet to lose a third conference game. Isn't this league fun?

I'll take the Cyclones in front of a blizzard-depleted Hilton Coliseum crowd.
