On This Day in History
MARCH 24, 2013. The day we all came together.
Iowa State Basketball
THROUGH THEIR EYES. Tommy Birch helps you relive the Cyclones' 2015-16 season — and it's not over yet.
WE HAVE MORE IN US. Say, "Final Four." SAY IT.
STEVE AND GEORGES. When we look back on 2015-16, we'll attribute this team's success to Steve Prohm and Georges Niang.
VOTE OF CONFIDENCE. Fred Hoiberg offered his inspirational two cents on Iowa State's success, and you'll never guess who he picked in his bracket...
SWEET PREVIEW. You don't have to read my Sweet Sixteen preview, just know that you're preventing me from putting food on the table by not doing so.
FUN STUFF. This and that from Randy Peterson, including a peek into the ISU locker room and some team superlatives from Naz Long. Best dancer is Monté Morris? Not buying it.
Iowa State Ladies
WELCOME TO OUR GLORIOUS STATE. Canceling a softball game due to winter weather is absolutely peak Iowa.
INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR. Bill Fennelly has landed Sofija Zivaljevic, a 17 year old guard from Montenegro who will sign with Iowa State in April. She averaged 8-3-3 in the 2015 U20 European Championships.
Around The Country
CLEVELAND ALL-STARS. There's a rather terrifying (and feasible) way LeBron James could play on a team with all of his friends. Find out how.
JOB PLACEMENT. Kentucky's entire basketball roster is declaring for the NBA Draft in hopes of receiving invitations to the combine.
BUT WHAT IS A CATCH? The NFL has OK'd a series of minor rules changes, including permanent approval of the the 15-yard line as the line of scrimmage for PATs and eliminating the chop block.
MILLIONAIRE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES ARE JUST KIDS. Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera is okay with players being sore losers with the media because "these are millennials."
A-ROD HAS AN END DATE. Alex Rodriguez is hanging up his cleats after the 2017 season, when his contract expires.
BASKETBALL IS AWESOME. A few spectacular plays from last night's NBA action, including:
- Emmanuel Mudiay's stupid game-winning three
- DeAndre Jordan committing second degree murder
- Stephen Curry's obnoxiously awesome left-handed pass
AND HE DIDN'T FINISH LAST! Lon Kruger is the nicest guy in college basketball, but we already knew that.
