The Mid-Morning Dump: Minnesota Not-so-Nice

New, 21 comments

Things are just all over the place in Minnesota, no matter the sport.

Iowa State Football

DUAL QB SYSTEM. A familiar face, that shared time at QB at Iowa State sounds off on the Cyclones current QB situation.

MIKE, MIKE, MIKE, MIKE, MIIIIIKE. Dylan Montz tells the story of Mike Johnson, from working at the YMCA to starting on Saturdays.

LAZARD UPDATE. Jared Stansbury has an update on Allen Lazard’s health.

MCCARNEY IS BACK IN TOWN. Dan McCarney is back in town for his Hall of Fame induction and as always, he’s a great quote.

KEYS TO VICTORY. See what the Godfather has to say about this weekend’s tilt against the Spartans.

Iowa State Basketball

2018 CROOTIN’. 4-star shooting guard Torrence Watson is coming for an unofficial visit on October 14th for Hilton Madness and 2018 4-star point guard, Courtney Ramey will unofficially visit the week prior.

UNRANKED IOWA STATE. Preseason polls may be how the 3rd longest streak in the country comes to an end.

TOP RANKED IOWA STATE. As of right now, Iowa State has the top recruiting class in the conference for 2017 and it should only get better if Prohm can snag either Wigginton or Stokes, who visit this weekend.

Around the Country

VIKINGS NEWS. Sounds awful and may mean the last snap in a Vikings uniform for Adrian Peterson. Who knows though, placing Matt Kalil on IR and signing Ronnie Hillman may solve the Vikings running game. Either way, people still see reason for hope in the Twin Cities.

GARNETT LEAVING AGAIN? The upstart Timberwolves may be parting ways with Kevin Garnett again as the two sides are reportedly close to a settlement.

BASEBALL THINGS. There’s still baseball things happening, if you’re into that.

I MEAN IT’S STILL TECHNICALLY A WALKOFF. The New York Mets thought they had a walkoff home run to give them the NL Wildcard lead, but instead it was a walkoff home run robbery.

HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY, PHIL. Nike is throwing Phil Knight one hell of an 80th birthday party if you love college basketball.

WELL THAT’S DEPRESSING. Only one Big 12 player is listed with Heisman odds at Bovada after week 3.

OMG WUT? A high schooler pulls off what may be the punt return of the year.
