In news that is unexpected only in its timing, Iowa State announced this afternoon that Kevin Jackson will resign as wrestling coach at the end of the current season and take an administrative role at ISU going forward.

While Jackson has led multiple wrestlers to dominating seasons he has struggled to lead a program through the long months of a season. Things were looking up going in to this season but the team has struggled to a 1-9 record that included a loss at home to UNI. At this time Pollard’s shortlist for the next coach is unknown.
We’ll update this story with responses from the team and recruits as they become available.
