We were as shocked as all of you last Saturday in the most positive way imaginable. For the first time in a really, really long time Iowa State took down the Sooners IN Norman, Oklahoma.
Iowa State’s third string quarterback Kyle Kempt out-dueled Heisman Trophy hopeful Baker Mayfield and Joel Lanning started a Heisman campaign of his own.
Kempt took home Offensive Big 12 Player of the Week while Mr, Lanning won it on the defensive side of the ball.
Lanning also took home Pardon My Take’s “Football Guy” of the week.

We spent a majority of the time talking about the biggest win in school history. Who starts at quarterback next week? Will Joel Lanning continue to play on both sides of the ball?
We re-evaluated the expectations we have for the team after this big upset. Is a bowl game a real possibility? Austin and Levi both think it is possible, but ISU is likely to only be favored in one, possibly two, more games this season.
Finally, we talked a little bit about Hilton Madness this Friday. If you are in town for the football game this Saturday head to Hilton Coliseum Friday evening as players from both the men’s and women’s teams will partake in introductions, a three point contest, dunk contest and brief scrimmage.
