With Iowa State’s recruiting efforts being questioned early on, now there is nothing to be asked. Iowa State will have one of the nation’s best recruiting classes after 4-star small forward Talen Horton-Tucker committed to Iowa State.
Talen Horton-Tucker a 6ft-5in small forward is 109th best prospect in the 2018 recruiting class. Horton-Tucker is also the 28th best small forward in the class and the fourth overall prospect in the state of Illinois. He will be the third commit in the 2018 class to come from the Chicago area. Horton-Tucker is a 93 overall composite ranking on 247 sports and will be the second 4-star commit of the class for Steve Prohm.
Schools that also offered Talen Horton-Tucker were Illinois, Xavier, Kansas, Florida State and Dayton. Illinois, Xavier and Iowa State were in his final three at the beginning of the week.
Obviously Talen Horton-Tucker is very talented. When I watch him I see a player who is very similar to Deonte Burton. If that is the case I think Cyclone fans are going to be very pleased with Horton-Tucker. With this class in tact, Iowa State will have many players on the roster over 6ft 5 inches tall, which is some size Iowa State hasn’t seen in quite some time, if ever.
With Horton-Tuckers commitment, Iowa State now has every available scholarship filled for the 2018-2019 season. There may be some movement at the end of the upcoming season, until then we will wait and see.
