Nick Weiler-Babb had a career night, starting with the opening 3 and ending with 23 points to go along with 7 rebounds and assists. Shabazz of Appalachian State had 21 points in the first frame. A back and forth first half culminated with Iowa State being up 47-43 at the break.
The second half was almost all Iowa State, with the Cyclones jumping out to a 79 to 61 lead with 8:25 left to play. Great play by all Cyclones involved meant five of our players tonight had at least 10 points.
Additionally, in his first minutes as a Cyclone, Lard finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
Iowa State will play the winner of Tulsa/Western Michigan at 6PM on ESPNU, I believe.
