The Cyclones won 75-64 tonight. The Broncos attempted to stampede back while going on a 25-5 run late in the game.

The first half of the game started slow for the Cyclones, as we didn’t get a basket until the 17:59 mark when Jeff Beverly made a jumper plus one free throw to tie us up at three a piece. Shortly thereafter, Boise State’s (arguably) best player, Chandler Hutchison, hit his head hard and wouldn’t return into the game for the basketballers from Boise. Hutchison officially left tonight’s game at the 12:22 mark.
Following his departure, the Cyclones firmly entrenched themselves on offense, going on a 25-11 run to end the half that would end with a Wigginton buzzer-beater to put us up 39-21.

Our hot shooting would continue until the 11:25 mark (58-39 ISU), following the Talley basket. The Broncos would start hoofing it by capitalizing on many a Cyclone miss to bring it to a four point (64-60) Cyclone lead with 2:35 left in the game.
Not to worry though, the Cyclones would get all 13 points in the last 2:54 of the game from Donovan Jackson.

This is the second time since the 2013-14 season that Iowa State has knocked off Boise State in a regular season tournament final, with the prior time being the Diamond Head Classic. A game that was won by the Cyclones 70-66.
