This game started more poorly than any of us could imagine, thanks to an early 14-5 lead by Alcorn State. Donovan Jackson would heat up Hilton and our hearts going 3/3 early to knot the game up at 14 all. Iowa State would struggle with the zone defense deployed for most of the first half.
The last 10 minutes of the first half were very back and forth, with Alcorn State biggest lead being three points. At the very end of the first half, Cameron Lard had a dunk to send ISU into the locker room up 33-32.

We would then open up the second half on a nine point run within the first three minutes, and they would keep the heat on for the rest of the half. At the 4:43 mark, Hans Brase came up with a huge block.
