The Cyclones dominated from wall-to-wall in tonight’s semifinal game.

TCU took down the Big 12 Tournament’s #1 seed Kansas yesterday in a surprise upset to set up a match-up with Iowa State today, but a hot Cyclone team combined with the Horned Frogs playing their third game in three days led to a blowout as ISU prevailed 84-63.

Deonte Burton was the star of the show for Iowa State in this one, racking up 22 points on 50% shooting to go along with five rebounds and four assists. Monte Morris followed up his near-triple-double against Oklahoma State by tallying 15 points, three assists, three rebounds and three steals in a game that he spent a fair amount of time on the bench due to the sizable lead.

Overall, Iowa State shot 55.4% from the field and hit 12 of 26 3-point attempts. They played a clean game too, notching just six turnovers on the evening.

The Cyclones are easily playing their best ball of the season right now. It’s a night and day difference compared to the team we saw play against the likes of Cincinnati and Iowa before the calendar turned to 2017.

With the win, ISU will play in tomorrow night’s championship game at 5 p.m. Central. The game is televised on ESPN and the opponent will either be West Virginia or Kansas State, depending on who wins semifinal number two.

Expect even more State fans to make the trip down I-35 tomorrow as the Cyclones go for their third Big 12 Tournament title in four years. Enjoy celebrating the win tonight, Cyclone Nation!
