In the final poll before the postseason, Iowa State gained one spot.

NCAA Basketball: Iowa State at West Virginia Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports

A few days before Iowa State will try to win their third Big 12 Tournament title in four years, the Cyclones have been ranked 23rd in the country. Steve Prohm and company had a tough week playing some of the Big 12’s best in Oklahoma State and West Virginia. When the dust settled, they ended up in a three-way tie for second place and with the 4-seed in the Big 12 Tournament.

As for the rest of the conference, Kansas continues to have a hold on the #1 ranking in the country. Baylor is ranked 9th and West Virginia fell to 11th in the rankings. Meanwhile, Oklahoma State received 23 votes after their two losses this past week.

The power conferences will now begin their conference tournaments this week, which should supply fans with some great basketball to watch. The Big 12 Tournament kicks off on Wednesday night, with the first game being TCU vs Oklahoma.

Iowa State will take on Oklahoma State in the 4/5 game on Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m. You can watch the game on ESPN2.
