Cyclone football added a speedy wide receiver to its class of 2018.

Sound the sirens!

Matt Campbell continues to recruit players that fit his system. This time, it’s speedy wide receiver out of Burnet High School in Texas, Sterling Galban.

Galban had been on the radar of schools like Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Florida. Coach Campbell offered him on March 21st, and the news of his commitment was made known earlier tonight by Alex Halsted of 247Sports.

Galban is a 3-star recruit with a 81 composite ranking on 247Sports. He caught 70 passes last year for just over 900 yards and 11 touchdowns. Galban is at his best in the screen game, with his high school team utilizing quick routes to get him the ball in space to let his speed do the rest. He’s also shown the ability to stretch the field and take the top off a defense. Some might say his game rivals that of current Cyclone, Trever Ryen.

Galban is the third commitment in the 2018 class for Iowa State, which now ranks 64th nationally early on. The coaching staff will be making various recruiting trips and camp appearances before summer workouts begin, so more recruiting news is certainly coming our way.

Stay tuned to WRNL for future recruiting updates.
