Georges Niang Inks Deal with the Golden State Warriors

The Iowa State legend will now have a shot with the defending NBA Champions.

Georges Niang believed he would be in a fall camp in the NBA. The Warriors made sure that happened.

Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news on Twitter this morning that Niang had signed a partially guaranteed contract with Golden State. For those of you unfamiliar with NBA contracts, the partially guaranteed means that Golden State would not have to pay Niang in full if they cut him at anytime. It all depends on the framework of his contract on how much is guaranteed to him.

Niang averaged .9 points and .7 rebounds over 23 games with the Indiana Pacers last season. The former Cyclone also averaged 19 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists for Fort Wayne, the Pacers’ G-League affiliate, scoring a season high 32 points in the final game with Fort Wayne.

Georges is expected to play in Santa Cruz for the Warrior’s G-Leauge team. The Warriors will open up their 2017 preseason schedule on September 30th against Monte Morris and the Denver Nuggets.
