Things started slow for Iowa State tonight but a pair of defensive scores early gave the offense the time it needed to get things going. By the time the final whistle blew LANRAM had made an appearance, Allen Lazard became the school’s career leader in receptions, and Coach Campbell walked away with his first of hopefully many career wins over UNI.
Recap
UNI got on the board first and when Iowa State followed that up with a three and out it appeared that we might be looking at yet another disappointing opener. But in the ensuing UNI drive Willie Harvey took an interception to the house to tie things up 7-7.

Not to be outdone by his teammate, two drives later Kamari Cotton-Moya got a pick six of his own to put the Cyclones up 14-7.

A UNI field goal brought the game to within four points but around that time Iowa State finally started to find their offensive rhythm. A string of offensive touchdowns followed as ISU built up a 42-17 lead before putting in the backups for the final few drives. UNI scored once more against the 2nd team for a 42-24 final.
Iowa State will be back in action next Saturday, September 9th, at 11AM against Iowa in Ames.
