Entering the halfway point of the season, Iowa State is 3-3 and riding a tidal wave of momentum. The Brock Purdy-led offense has been outstanding in each of the last two games, averaging 39 points and 482 yards with the true freshman at the helm, but had largely struggled for the first four games.
In contrast, the defense has been outstanding for most of the first half of the season, including a jewel on the crown this past weekend against West Virginia, where the Cyclones absolutely obliterated the vaunted Mountaineer offense, holding them to a measly 152 yards of total offense.
