Betting the Big 12: Week 6

I am ON FIRE with my PICKS

It just keeps getting better and better. I went 2 for 2 last week, and am absolutely EN FUEGO! My monopoly balance has doubled to a total of $2,050,000, and if you haven’t followed this SHARP’s advice, it may be time to do so.

I might need to hire Floyd Mayweather’s bag men before too long if I keep this up.

Here are your bets for Week 6 of the Big 12 College Football Season

Two teams have BYE weeks – Texas Tech and TCU

#19 Texas (4-1, 2-0) vs #7 Oklahoma (5-0, 2-0) at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX | 11:00 A.M. on FOX | Oklahoma -7.5

Texas is coming off back-to-back impressive victories, and have proven their doubters wrong. Oklahoma got back in the flow of things after a snoozer the week before. The Longhorns defense dominated against K-State, scratching out a 5-point victory on the road, while OU and Kyler Murray slung it all over the field, slaughtering Baylor by 33.

On the year, both programs are 2-3 against the spread, as Vegas has given the Sooner quite insurmountable sums to cover. I could see anything happening in this game, but ya gotta think the Sooners will win.

I will be toeing the line when it comes to that 7 points though. If you put a gun to my head I would swallow the points for OU.

Kansas State (2-3, 0-2) at Baylor (3-2, 1-1) | 2:30 P.M. on FS1 | Baylor -5

These two teams are as inconsistent as a fifth-grader and his/her dating relationships. K-State has struggled to put points on the board, while Baylor has struggled to stop anyone. It has all the makings for a close game, and neither team is going to wow you.

Either way, this game will no doubtedly get the lowest reviews and viewers. The matchup is a toss-up, but if you forced me to make a pick, I would pick the home team.

My top TWO BEST BETS of the week

Iowa State (1-3, 0-2) at #25 Oklahoma State (4-1, 1-1) | 2:30 P.M. on ESPN2 | Oklahoma State -11

The Cyclones surprisingly have matched up quite well with the Cowboys, especially as of recent. In fact, ISU kept their losing margins within a score in each of the last three years, including holding leads late in two of them.

Pokes coach Mike Gundy has things moving like he usually does in Stillwater, averaging over 44 points per game and has found his new quarterback in Taylor Cornelius. Iowa State, on the other hand, has struggled immensely to put up points, but their defense should be able to keep the game close.

You will have to read my preview later in the week, but let me start this off with an ISU cover.

I’ll take ISU for $100k and the 11-point spread.

Kansas (2-3, 0-2) at #9 West Virginia (4-0, 2-0) | 11:00 A.M. on ESPN2 | West Virginia -28.5

West Virginia faced all of their expectations head on, and took care of business against Texas Tech last week. Will Grier continues to put up video-game stats, and the Mountaineers are now perfect against Vegas spreads.

Kansas, well they lost to OSU by 20, but also put up a serviceable 28 points in garbage time. The Jayhawks look a little bit better, but who are we kidding? KU will be completely overmatched against a top-10 team and dark-horse candidate to shake things up in the Big 12.

Give me WVU all the way, including the 28.5-point spread for $100k.
