With Iowa State announcing this week that the Cyclones will be playing Drake on December 1st instead of Incarnate Word, the game’s television availability were up in the air. In an act of backhanded benevolence, the Longhorn Network has swooped in and purchased the broadcasting rights for the game, which will be played at Jack Trice Stadium.

“We initially decided to broadcast last week’s Texas-Iowa State game as in appreciation for the Cyclones’ rise in the the Big 12. They started from the bottom, and now they’re here, near the top of the Big 12,” said Longhorn GameDay host Ricky Williams. “The Iowa State fanbase was the best we ever had, so we wanted to broadcast their matchup with Drake on December 1st.”

Rumors are now swirling that Drake may even be performing at halftime. “I’ve been a Texas fan my whole life, and now that Texas is finally back, I’d love to fulfill my childhood dream of performing on the Longhorn Network,” said the Grammy-winning rapper.

Whether or not Cyclone fans get to hear “In My Feelings” at halftime, Cyclone fans that won’t be at the game will almost certainly enjoy following another Iowa State football game on Twitter while one of six Cyclones with access to the Longhorn Network live tweet the game.

Kickoff for the game will be at 11 AM on Saturday.
