After finishing 2-1 in Maui with two big wins over Illinois and San Diego State, the Cyclones returned to Hilton Coliseum to take on the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks. Tyrese Haliburton poured in sixteen first half points on 6/7 shooting from the field, but didn’t take an attempt in the second half. Talen Horton-Tucker wasn’t particularly efficient in scoring his 14 points, but did add 5 steals. Marial Shayok had a similar night from the floor as THT, but went a perfect 6/6 at the line.
This marked the last game on the schedule before the return of Cameron Lard and Zoran Talley to the lineup following suspensions for the Dec. 3 clash with North Dakota State. Lindell Wigginton continues to rehab his foot, but is expected to return sometime in the next couple weeks before conference play, possibly even in time for the Iowa game.
