Iowa State’s success has put a target on their coaches. Tom Manning has been one of the most respected names for the offensive line position, and new Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Frank Reich thought so as well. Tom Manning will be hired as Tight Ends Coach for the Indianapolis Colts. Leaving Iowa State looking for a new offensive coordinator.
BREAKING: Matt Campbell just confirmed to me that Iowa State offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Tom Manning has accepted a job with the Indianapolis Colts as tight ends coach. #Cyclones

Tom Manning spent two seasons with Iowa State, and has been with Matt Campbell since his days at Toledo. Iowa State will need to have a replacement in place as spring practice is right around the corner.
Under Manning this past season, Iowa State averaged 28 points per game, 385 yards of total offense, and the nation’s 32nd best passing offense, with just over 273 yards per game. With the passing game success this past season, Iowa State was one of the worst rushing offenses in the nation. Ranked well over 100th in most rushing categories.
It’s no secret that Matt Campbell enjoys working with his friends and having a close group of coaches. The more success that comes Iowa State’s way, the more likely this will happen again.
Stay tuned to WRNL as spring football approaches and Iowa State hires a new Offensive Coordinator.
