2:25 left in the game, the Cyclones have a 54-57 advantage, four timeouts, and the possession arrow. Hampton’s first possession since the timeout end in a missed floater and Paul Shirley’s 7th rebound of the game.

Martin Rančík attempts to drive it inside, only to have his shot plundered by Williams. Marseilles Brown scooped the blocked ball and went coast to coast to make the score 57-56, Iowa State with 1:43 remaining. Hampton has been on a 12-2 run in the last 6:15.
Tinsley has too strong of a jumper, and Rančík doesn’t pull down the rebound, giving Hampton another possession. Nothing comes of it, apart from a Hampton foul on the other end.

Jamaal gets an open jumper at the basket, but again it misses, and again Rančík doesn’t get the board. Hampton calls a timeout with 21.6 seconds left. Tarvis Williams puts Hampton up 58-57 with 6.9 seconds left.

Tinsley has another decent look, but it’s just too much and it rolls off the front of the basket.
This game, unfortunately, is similar to a game against a team from Birmingham, AL that may or not may not make its way into this series, and is still considered one of the biggest upsets in NCAA tournament history.
I still haven’t watched the entirety of that game.
