100 Things Cyclone Fans Should Forget Before They Die: Nick Leaders Drops Interception in OT at Nebraska in 2005

A heartbreaker.

Up until this point in the 2005 season the Cyclones had no problems, they beat #8 Iowa 23-3, they came back and beat Army on the road while being in the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2002.

Enter, Nebraska.

The Cornhuskers had underperforming quarterback Zac Taylor go up against a strong Iowa State defense.

Per his page on Wikipedia: Taylor had a breakout day against Iowa State, throwing for a school record 431 yards on 36 of 55 passing with two touchdowns. The 36 completions was also a school record at the time.

The #23 Cyclones would recover a fumble with 3 minutes to go and the score tied at 13.

Greg Coleman would score from 10 yards out to open up scoring for the Cyclones in overtime.

Then, on the first Cornhusker play of the first overtime, this happens, and eventually Nebraska would win 27-20 in 2OT.
